Seoul Namsangol Hanok Village will re-open a new themed tourist product ‘1890 Namsangol Night Market’ from 2 pm to 9 pm on the 5th of next month (May 5th).
The Namsangol Hanok Village Night Event is scheduled to take place every Saturday (closed in July) from May to the end of October. It is characterized by differentiated programs and contents, unlike the existing night market.
In 1890, Namsangol Night Market reproduces the scenery of the marketplace where the tradition and the flowering culture of Joseon are mixed. On the first day of the next month, May 5, the commemoration of the opening of the 1890 Namsungol Night Market, a marketplace program to buy and sell goods and a culture play of the flowering season are displayed. A program for foreigners who will be able to see the scenery of Hanyang(Seoul, formerly named Hanyang) and enjoy various cultures will be held.
In addition, a variety of performances will be provided to re-interpret the market scenery of the 1890s period according to the modern sense, to provide diverse food and sightseeing, and to encourage the interest of the traditional market place.
Visitors can enjoy activities and events that blend the traditional with the modern; that fuse East and West. There will be traditional games competitions, traditional music performances, and traditional clothing fashion shows, all featuring foreign nationals as performers.
