The ‘2017 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards)’ red carpet and awards ceremony held at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on December 1 was held at the same time through the Mnet All Channel, It was broadcast live. The number of concurrent users of ‘2017 MAMA’ reached about 140,000, showing a high level of interest from fans around the world.
In the ‘2017 MAMA in Hong Kong’ held at the Asia World Expo Arena in Hong Kong on the 1st, about 14,000 people gathered and showed music and unity even though they have various languages and cultures.
2017 MAMA first kicked off in Vietnam on November 25 and then was held in Japan on November 29. The final leg of the event held on December 1 in Hong Kong at the Asia Expo Arena, and it’s set to be an amazing night with collaboration stages and individual performances by the attending singers.
Big Hit Entertainment’s CEO Bang Si Hyuk attended the ceremony as the keynote speaker, addressing the success of BTS in the Western music market.
Bang Si Hyuk said, “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all artists and professionals who devoted themselves to the development of Kpop. Their work played a decisive role for BTS to leap forward, and BTS could not have come this far if it weren’t for Kpop’s amazing accomplishments that has been made until now.”
The ‘2017 MAMA in Hong Kong’ stage was designed to make the reality and the virtual coexist.
The first stage was composed by Dynamic Duo, Chen, Jackson, Mark, Jooheon and Vernon. The members of each group gathered together to show the stage where they coexist. The solo performer’s best called Sunmi and Taemin’s collaboration overcame the stage, and the sound of the Heize and the Bolbbalgan4 met the audiences, and the Day6, GOT7 and NCT127, Red Velvet caught up to the visual side. Also, tvN drama ‘Dokkebi’ OST featuring the Soyou, Cheonhyeol, and Ailee came up on one stage and received fans’ cheers. There was also the powerful stage of the best artists such as Hyukoh, EXO, Wanna One, Super Junior and BTS.
As a music awards ceremony with the concept of coexistence of various Asian cultures, the stage of the best Chinese artist Mamun Moon was also continued. Love of my life, which is also famous as a movie OST, resonated and the global fans of various countries and regions gathered in the theater and fell in love singing. In addition, Karen Mok was awarded ‘Best Asian Artist Mandarin’.
