In light of International Museum Day (May 18), Seoul will designate the week of May 14 (Tues.) to May 19 (Sun.) as the 2019 Seoul Museum Week during which various programs will be available to citizens.
2019 Seoul Museum Week
The 2019 Seoul Museum Week will introduce Seoul’s lesser-known museums and art museums to the public, offering an opportunity for new discoveries and visits.
The main events will include, “Visiting Museums and Art Museums alongside Curators,” “Walking to Museums and Art Museums,” “Sticker Tour,” and “10 Thousand Museums, 10 Thousand Colors, Seoul’s Museums and Art Museums.” A free shuttle bus service will be available for easy access to the major museums.
The “Visiting Museums and Art Museums alongside Curators” program will consist of four differently-themed, 2-hour courses that will be operated twice a day at 10:00 and 14:00 on the 18th and 19th. Reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 a.m. on May 14 at Seoul’s Reservation for Public Service website.

Citizens who visit museums and art museums during Museum Week can participate in an event to win a ticket to the David Hockney exhibition at the Seoul Museum of Art.
How to Participate in the Sticker Tour
- Visit four Sticker Tour locations to collect stickers
- Bring the program book filled with stickers to receive a voucher for an extra ticket to the David Hockney exhibition that will be provided with the purchase of a regular admission ticket

The ‘Museum Shuttle’service that will be making rounds to the major museums in Jongno and Bukchon will operate free of charge for two days, on the 18th and 19th, from 10:00 to 16:30 in 30-minute intervals.
The shuttle buses will depart every thirty minutes after the hour and every hour, on the hour, from the Seoul Museum of History (Kumho Asiana Main Tower). Curators will also be riding the buses to offer guided tours of neighboring museums and routes.
Starting at the Seoul Museum of History, the buses will stop at eleven museums. Visitors will be able to visit 27 museums and art museums located within the vicinity of the bus stops.
