Dream Concert will be returning this year in a different way!
On July 6, it was announced by Korea Entertainment Producer’s Association (KEPA) that 2020 Dream Concert will be held this year on July 25 and 26. The event will be held without a live audience at the venue, but will instead be streamed live on the The K-POP YouTube channel.
Dream Concert first began in 1995 and is a large-scale concert that brings together popular singers in Korea for a fun music festival. This will be the first time that the event is held online. The decision was made to hold an online event instead of canceling the event this year due to the COVID-19 global pandemic in the hopes that K-pop fans will be able to gain a message of hope and courage through the performances.
The concert will be utilizing a variety of technologies such as AR, VR, EX 3D sound, and multi-cams in order to create a more lively experience, and the upcoming concert has been given the title of “CONNECT:D.”
It is set to cost 5,500 won (approximately $4.6) to watch for both days. The association explained, “A portion of the profits from the concert will be donated to help those in the industry who are in need.”
Stay tuned for the lineup!
