2022 Gyeongbokgung Palace Evening Admission

Evening admission at Gyeongbokgung Palace will begin in April. The Cultural Heritage Administration Gyeongbokgung Office announced this year’s special evening admission program will run for 38 days from April 1 to May 29. However, the palace is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and during the Royal Culture Festival from May 11-15.

Operating hours are from 19:00 to 21:30 with last admission at 20:30.

Evening admission to Gyeongbokgung Palace is limited to 1,300 visitors per day. Tickets must be purchased online prior to visiting. However, foreigners can buy tickets on-site and this is limited to 100 visitors per day. During ticketing, visitors must show a valid form of ID such as a passport or alien registration card. Also, visitors wearing hanbok can receive free admission.

Online tickets are available through 11st Street. Tickets can be printed at the unmanned kiosk near the ticket booth.

Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, a national treasure, in Gyeongbokgung Palace will also have special tours for seven months from April to October.

The Gyeonghoeru special tour is led by a professional tour guide and takes place three times a day (10:00, 14:00, and 16:00) with each tour lasting 30-40 minutes. Each tour is limited to 20 people (15 Koreans, 5 foreigners). Separate admission fees are not required.

Tickets to the special tour can only be purchased online and must be made on the Gyeongbokgung Palace Management Office website up to seven days but at least one day prior to the desired date. Visitors can reserve up to two tickets and reservations open at 10:00 on March 25.
