The BBC of the U.K. on Aug. 10 (local time) covered Korea’s method of COVID-19 disinfection at beaches in summer as an exemplary model.
The British network introduced Korean disinfection efforts at beaches such as an internet reservation system to disperse crowds and a pre-check protocol designed to encourage beachgoers to follow social distancing measures.
The report also focused on actions targeting visitors such as providing masks to those not wearing them and giving wristbands to those undergoing body temperature checks. It also featured a drone flying at the beach carrying a placard on COVID-19 guidelines to inform visitors about safety.
The BBC also said Korea has no confirmed infections at beaches this summer thanks to such efforts so far.
In pro sports, meanwhile, stadiums in Korea can fill their seats up to 30% of capacity. For pro baseball and soccer, the limit is 25% to maintain social distancing.
