Be like BTS, Korean students looking for "Applied Music" at the University

Department of “Applied Music” of Hanyang University ERICA ranked one of the best at the entry test of early decision plans for college 2019!

The vocal major position of this department ranked one of the highest competition rates of 477.5:1 as many recent years at entry test of early decision plans for college 2019!

As the music industry of South Korea has grown so much with the huge success of K-POP, the students who’d like to study pop music has been dramatically increasing year after year. This has even strengthened the quality of music education and students’ performances.

In addition to this, Hanyang University Erica Campus will be held a K-pop Winter camp 2018 ~ 2019 for foreigners to experience what it takes to become a K-pop star.

“ERICA Winter K-POP Camp 2018 – 2019,” will be held at the school’s ERICA campus in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, from January 07, 2019, aims to teach applicants basic techniques ranging from pronunciation and breathing tips to dance moves and choreography. The students will also learn basic Korean lessons.

The program, with lessons from Monday to Friday 30 hours per week, allows the students to let off steam by offering tours of trendy Seoul hotspots like Daehangno Street and Hongik University Street on weekends.

Each student will complete the camp by performing a choreographed song. The camp will hold a graduation concert for the students on January 18, 2019. The students will leave with a certificate and a flash drive containing records of their training.

Hanyang University says its practical music and dance programs are “the nation’s best” with a strong pool of K-pop instructors and top-tier students screened through an entrance test with up to 500 people vying for each position.
