It was Lady Gaga in May, and it will be Selena Gomez in August.
K-pop girl group BLACKPINK revealed Wednesday that it will collaborate with American pop star Selena Gomez for a new single.
The four-piece act’s record label YG Entertainment floated a teaser poster on its official blog. The poster shows the name of BLACKPINK and Gomez, as well as the song’s release date ― Aug. 28 ― against a black and pink backdrop.
“BLACKPINK and Gomez have long been mutual fans and have communed with music,” YG said on Wednesday. “BLACKPINK is thankful to Gomez and glad to release the track for its followers.”
Further details of the single, such as its title and genre, have not been disclosed.
BLACKPINK, consisting of Jenni, Lisa, Rose, and Jisoo, shot to fame with a series of hits including “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” (2018). Its latest release “How You Like That” ― a pre-release from the forthcoming studio album that will hit shelves in October ― racked up more than 100 million views on YouTube within 32 hours of its release and became the fastest YouTube video to reach the milestone.
Gomez earned the first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last year with the single “Lose You to Love Me.”
