The music video of K-pop girl band BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” has surpassed the threshold of 300 million YouTube views just two months after its release.
The feat was achieved on Thursday, 68 days after the release of the song and its umbrella album, “Square Up,” setting the record the fastest K-pop video to hit the 300-million-view mark, according to YG Entertainment.
BLACKPINK became “the fastest K-pop act to pass the mark,” despite girl groups generally being assessed as having weaker fanbases than their boy band counterparts, YG noted.
YG has said the YouTube channel for BLACKPINK has over 10 million subscribers, the highest number for any K-pop music group.
