BTS ARMYPEDIA, ARMY UNITED in SEOUL

On Saturday, 10,000 BTS fans from the boy band’s official fan club – better known as ARMY – gathered in Seoul’s Oil Tank Culture Park in Mapo District, western Seoul, to celebrate 2,080 days since the mega-hit act’s debut in 2013.

“ARMY UNITED in SEOUL,” is the second event in the ARMYPEDIA campaign, a massive online memory archive program launched by BTS’ management company Big Hit Entertainment where fans can upload text, videos and images capturing their favorite BTS moments. Fans watched a video projected onto an outdoor screen showing BTS members reflecting on their journey while reviewing and commenting on footage from previous concerts, award shows and music videos.

This followed “RUN ARMY in ACTION,” a similar event also held in Seoul two weeks prior.

Although the global heartthrobs didn’t make a physical appearance at the event, members gifted fans with on-screen live performances of some of their debut titles, including “No More Dream” and “Just One Day.”

“As much as a lot of people love us, we wanted to know [our fans] a bit better,” said RM, leader of BTS, in a video.

“We tried to convey our honest feelings and the messages through this album,” he added, referring to the upcoming “Map of the Soul: Persona” album that the seven-member act is set to release globally on April 12.
