BTS’s first English single, “Dynamite,” is expected to top Billboard’s main single “Hot 100.”
The U.S. Forbes magazine quoted various music ranking data on the 27th August, local time, saying, “BTS’ new single ‘Dynamite’ is well worth its name in the first week of its release. We expect it to debut as No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 to be released next week.
Hot 100 is a key Billboard ranking that aggregates and publishes all indicators, including radio broadcasts, album sales, and streaming times.
Forbes pointed out that BTS’s “Dynamite” is ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s singles list because it has set various records in streaming times and radio broadcasts.
In particular, “Considering all the successes in radio broadcasting, streaming, and single sales, it seems that the seven-member superstar BTS is ready to make history again with Dynamite.”
If BTS ‘Dynamite’ becomes the number one hot 100, it will be the first Korean singer to reach the top of the main pop song list.
The best performance ever achieved by the Korean music industry was Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” which was an unprecedented hit worldwide, ranked second for seven consecutive weeks in 2012.
Previously, BTS had topped the Billboard 200, which counts album sales, four times, but its best performance on the Billboard Hot 100 has yet to reach the top of the list.
