K-pop sensation BTS has made the list of the “10 best pop bands of all time” by the American men’s magazine Esquire.
Esquire on Jan. 30 announced that BTS was one of the 10 groups to make the list alongside the Beatles and Queen.
Introducing the seven-member group, the magazine said, “With a fanbase that is aptly described as ‘ARMY,’ BTS’ beloved septet has rapidly redefined boy bands, fandoms, and pop music itself.”
“BTS is arguably one of the vanguard acts to pioneer K-Pop’s immeasurable worldwide success.”
Esquire added, “Their hits ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Life Goes On’ offer a blend of pop, hip-hop, disco, and R&B, with catchy melodies that are often laced with social commentary-based lyrics.”
Also on the top ten list along with the Beatles and Queen were the Supremes, an R&B trio who served as the real-life model for the film “Dreamgirls,” Sweden’s ABBA, the Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Sly, and the Family Stone, the Temptations and Destiny’s Child, the girl group that featured Beyonce.
