The “2019 MAMA” was held at Nagoya Dome in Japan on Dec. 4 under the concept of “The Next Dimension: Music.”
Actor Park Bo-gum, the “MAMA” host that appeared after the intense laser show, greeted him in Korean, English and Japanese. “This is the third time this year that I’ve been here as a host,” he said.
It will be the first ‘MAMA’ to be extended at the dome on the largest scale. “I’m curious about the music energy that’s going to take place in a big space,” he said. “This year’s concept is a new dimension of music that goes beyond boundaries.”
BTS swept the awards with a total of 9 trophies including 4 Daesangs (Grand Prizes), taking home all four including Album of the Year for “Map of the Soul: Persona,” Worldwide Icon of the Year, Song of the Year for “Boy With Luv,” and Artist of the Year.
