The Seoul Music Awards ceremony is held today(25th January). The main character, who embraces the trophy of glory, gets attention.
27th Seoul Music Awards will be held today at 7:00 pm at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul. Super Junior Kim Hee-cheol, Broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, and actress Kim So-hyun are assigned to MC.
As a result of finalizing the music industry in 2017, attention is paid to the main character trophy given to the singer who represents the music industry in a year. The award is given to twelve teams, and the award team is made up of digital music and record sales, mobile voting results, and judges’ evaluations.
Among the Boy Group, the most prominent winners are BTS and EXO. BTS have performed remarkably well last year. They entered the US Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards. BTS made his debut on Billboard’s main chart Hot 100 with the title song “Love Yourself Her”, released last September.
In Korea, BTS made their debut album ‘Love Yourself Her’, which is the number one album on the annual chart. According to the annual album chart released on the 12th by Gaon Chart, it sold 149,344 copies of the highest sales volume of charts accumulated in Gaon Chart history.
EXO won the grand prize for four consecutive years at the Seoul Music Awards last year. EXO has performed Quadruple Million Sellers with his fourth album “THE WAR” last year. EXO has played in both domestic and international markets, including first place in 42 countries around the world for iTunes album charts, and second place for 2 consecutive weeks on the US Billboard World album charts. This year, EXO will not attend the awards ceremony due to the pre-occupied schedule in Japan.
Among the Girl Group, TWICE and Red Velvet are very popular. TWICE has hit every song from debut song ‘Like Ooh-Ahh’ to the recently released ‘Heart Shaker’, and Red Velvet was loved last year by a unique style of music ranging from ‘Rookie’ to ‘Red Flavor’ and ‘Peek-A-Boo’.
