The biggest boy band in the world BTS, which has created a worldwide syndrome, received ‘Order of Culture Merit’ from the government for their contribution to the Korean Wave and the spread of Korean language and culture.
After returning home from the world tour of North America and Europe on Friday, BTS received ‘Order of Culture Merit’, Sports and Tourism Minister Do Jong-hwan at the 2018 9th Korean Popular Culture And Arts Awards in Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

“I want to give this honor to all the ARMY around the world,” RM said in his acceptance speech.
“I am very proud to hear that many people at home and abroad sing along to us in Korean and study Hangul a lot,” Jin said. “I will make efforts to promote our culture,” he said.
“I think the award is a lot too much for us,” Jungkook said. “I will be grateful for the award you gave me to work harder. I will continue to contribute to promoting Korean culture throughout the world.”

Fans holding the “ARMY BOMB”, a carbon-propelled cheering bar, also stood out and cheered whenever BTS was named or displayed during the event.
Since early last month, BTS has attracted a total of 320,000 viewers, performing 22 performances in 11 cities in six countries including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., the Netherlands, Germany, and France.
BTS syndrome has prompted young people around the world to pay close attention to Korean culture and learn Korean language.
