BTS will Perform at 2020 Grammy Awards

KPOP sensation BTS will be the first Korean singer to perform at the U.S. music award ceremony “Grammy Awards.”

On January 22, the outlet published an interview with American rapper Lil Nas X, who became a breakout hit last year with his record-breaking track “Old Town Road.” He released several versions of the song, including one that features BTS leader RM.

The report states that Lil Nas X, who is the most nominated male artist at the Grammys this year, will perform “Old Town Road” at the ceremony on January 26. Variety writes, “Sources reveal that he’ll be joined onstage by Diplo, BTS, Young Thug, Mason Ramsey, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the OG Nas.”

The “Grammy Awards,” which marks its 62nd anniversary this year, will be held on Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. It will be broadcast live on Mnet at 9:55 a.m. on Jan. 27, Korean time.

Lil Nas X and BTS formed ties through Lil Nass X’s “Seoul Town Road Remix,” which was unveiled in July last year. At that time, BTS leader RM participated as a feature-ringing rapper by writing his own English lyrics, and the collaboration was made at the suggestion of Lil Nas X, who wanted to work with BTS, according to Big Hit Entertainment.

This leaves BTS as the first Korean artist to perform on the stage of the “Grammy Awards.”

This is the second time BTS has attended the “Grammy Awards.” BTS attended the 61st Grammy Awards held in February last year as the first Korean singer as a presenter.

The Grammy Awards is one of the top three music awards in the U.S. along with the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards. The Recording Arts and Sciences Academy of the U.S. selects excellent records and albums every year. Each year, a number of musicians who make and sing world-famous music will attend to congratulate each other on their contributions and present colorful performances.

BTS is also expected to make a great achievement in attending the top three U.S. music awards in its performance as a performance performer.

Meanwhile, BTS will release its fourth full-length album “MAP OF THE SHE SOUL: 7” on Feb. 21. Prior to the official release of the album, the album released “Black Swan,” one of the new songs, on Jan. 17, sweeping the top music charts at home and abroad.

BTS will perform “Black Swan” on the popular late-night talk show “James Corden Show” on the U.S. CBS channel.
