K-pop phenomenon BTS’s new music video “ON” had scored over 100 million views on YouTube by March 26. It is the group’s 23rd music video to surpass 100 million views, by far the highest number for a Korean artist or band.
Girl group TWICE holds second place with 12 music videos. It also is the second music video of the “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” title song. The views have soared since the Feb. 28 release, hitting over 10 million in an hour. The song’s performance-based music video “Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima performed by BTS” hit 100 million views last month. Last April, BTS became the first Korean artist or group to surpass 10 million views in the shortest time ― two hours and 52 minutes ― with the “Boy With Luv” music video.
The song, featuring pop artist Halsey, has topped 731 million views as of Thursday. Meanwhile, the group’s agency Bit Hit Entertainment said BTS will appear on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on March 30 for a special “Home Live” performance. It will part of the show’s “Homefest” project that intends to show the artists performing from home amid the spread of the coronavirus.
