After the rain stopped, off we go to Myeongdong to explore and have our dinner since we are already starving. From our hostel, we walked for around 3-5 minutes to take us to Chungmuro station. From there we rode the train to Myeongdong. I think it was just two stops before getting to Myeongdong station.
Just like what I see in Instagram photos and in the blog, the famous Myeongdong district was already bustling with life since it is already night time. Street vendors already have their good set up and people, both tourists and locals alike, are pouring deep into the streets and alleyways. This place is indeed a shoppers’ haven with shops, most of them are beautiful and skin care boutiques are everywhere! We can’t help but did a little shopping. Or not so little shopping since we went home toting a couple of paper bags from our fave shops!
For foodies, don’t fret! There are also a lot of restaurants in Myeongdong that you can choose from. But we decided to experience the street food culture on our first night here. I guess we can give the Korean BBQs, stews and bibimbap on another day!
After making our tummies full, we just went around for a quick stroll while looking for an ATM machine and money changer to exchange our peso to won. There are a lot of money changers around Myeongdong and for sure you will get to see one with a good rate. Just be patient though in walking through the maze of stalls and alleyways to find them.
The night is still young so we decided to take a quick trip to Dongdaemun. I’ll share what we did and saw on the next post.
