Foreign tourists are getting attention to the Gangwon Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival, which has become the world’s fourth-largest Winter festival.
On the first weekend of the festival, two days on January 6 and 7, foreign news agencies such as Reuters TV, AFP, AP, EPA, ABC and Arirang TV visited Hwacheon for coverage of the world’s four major winter festivals.
In particular, some foreign media, such as Reuters TV, showed great interest in broadcasting the festival program. Thanks to this coverage, Naver, the main portal site in Korea, and Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival stayed at the top of the search query for a long time. In addition, more than 100 domestic and foreign reporters gathered at the festival hall to compete for coverage.
