Stars from K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment have joined forces to produce a promotional video for the agency’s new girl outfit ITZY.
After the five-member band debuted on Tuesday, its YouTube platform two days later posted a 3:36 minute video titled “To. ITZY, From. JYP Family.”
Messages of promotion for the group’s debut track “Dalla Dalla” came from actress Suzy, actor and 2PM member Lee Jun-ho, DAY6, GOT7, Park Ji-min, and Wonder Girls’ Yubin and LIM. TWICE, JYP’s nine-piece band, which has not backed another girl band under the label until ITZY, also joined in.
“These fellows have been practicing real hard,” GOT7’s three artists said in the video. “We saw them many times in training. We will cheer for you as the co-unit of ‘Headquarters No.2.'”
Tzuyu from TWICE said her band “finally have their sister act to cheer for.” Lim called ITZY “a new girl-crush” while her teammate said she felt “positive energy and teen power when she frequently saw them practicing.”
On Tuesday, the two Wonder Girls members hosted a press showcase for ITZY at Blue Square in Seoul’s Yongsan-gu district.
ITZY, an acronym for “It’z Different,” debuted on the TV music performance show “M COUNTDOWN” on Mnet on Thursday followed by other appearances on MBC and SBS.
“Dalla Dalla” dominated five Korean online music charts on Tuesday and has drawn more than 43 million views as of Friday.
