MAMA(Mnet Asian Music Awards) will be held in Korea, BTS confirmed as the lineup

MAMA has confirmed its first domestic event in 11 years.

“MAMA(Mnet Asian Music Awards) will be held in Korea this year considering the overall situation such as COVID-19,” a K-pop industry official told on the 21st of September.

The 2020 MAMA will be held on December 6. The venue will be held at CJ ENM Content World in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Content World is 213,000 square meters, the size of 32 football fields, and the first stage of the K-pop open set will be completed in December, where the 2020 MAMA will be held.

It has become impossible to hold the event in Hong Kong due to concerns over safety issues caused by protests related to the COVID-19 Pandemic and Hong Kong repatriation laws, so it will eventually hold the ceremony at the MAMA to commemorate the opening of CJ ENM Contents World. BTS has already confirmed on the date and location of its appearance and is currently working on the remaining cast. Attention is also being paid to who will replace Park Bo-gum’s host post since 2017 due to his absence from the military service.

MAMA started with Mnet Video Music Awards in 1999, followed by Mnet KM Music Video Festival and Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF), and settled down as the current MAMA in 2009. The Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul was last held in Macau, Singapore, and Hong Kong since 2010, and will be held in Korea for the first time in 11 years.
