Mina will return to popular K-pop girl band TWICE later this month, ending her medical leave for two months, according to JYP Entertainment. The Japanese singer, whose real name is Mina Myoui, has been away from the nine-member band since July suffering from an anxiety disorder. Her comeback will coincide with the release of the group’s album “Feel Special” on Sept. 23.
“Mina showed her determination to work on the album and cautiously decided to join other members,” JYP said in a press release on Saturday. “Feel Special” features the track of the same name, reportedly composed by JYP founder and CEO Park Jin-young. The track’s teaser video featuring Mina went public on Friday.
Mina, 22, debuted as a TWICE member in 2015 with the mini-album “THE STORY BEGINS.” The band rose to stardom with a string of hits including “Cheer Up” (2016) and “Knock Knock” (2017).
