Netflix’s ‘Sweet Home’ soars in streaming ranking worldwide

Netflix’s Korean original series “Sweet Home” has been gathering force on Netflix streaming charts worldwide, since its Dec. 18 release.

The horror series topped Netflix’s daily streaming chart in 11 different countries, Friday, including Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand and Peru, according to FilxPatrol, a streaming data aggregator platform.

The show reached the top 3 in the U.S. chart the same day, the highest for a Korean production to date.

It also has remained in the top 10 charts in the South America and European regions this week.

Directed by Lee Eung-bok, the director of the megahit series “Descendants of the Sun” (2016), “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (2016), and “Mr. Sunshine” (2018), the apocalyptic series revolves around a socially isolated teen Cha Hyun-soo (Song Kang), whose family members died in a car accident.

One day, a mysterious phenomenon occurs in the world, turning humans into monsters. Hyun-soo and his apartment neighbors ― Pyeon Sang-wook (Lee Jin-wook) and Seo Yi-kyeong (Lee Si-young) ― fight against them to survive.
