Ryan Bang appointed new Honorary Ambassador of Gangwon Tourism

On September 15, 2017  South Korea’s Gangwon Province announced on Friday its new Ambassador, TV host and actor Ryan Bang.

The Korean national rose to fame when he became part of a TV reality contest as an international housemate. He later on joined the noontime variety program ‘Showtime’ and made several movies under the Kapamilya Network: ABS-CBN.

His latest movie with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, “My Ex and Whys” were shot on Nami Island in South Korea.

Bang, whose father is from Gangwon, said he feels grateful for the appointment and the opportunity.

He hopes that through his new role, he can inspire or encourage more Filipinos to visit Korea and try what Gangwon has to offer.

Gangwon Tourism also announced that they are now ready to host the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games.  The provincial government has built 12 sports arenas and Olympic facilities for the games.

Gangwon is the most preferred winter destination in Korea.  It is the setting for some of the famous Korean dramas like Jewel in the Palace, Descendants of the Sun and Endless love: Winter Sonata.
