Korean Soju is hard to drink? Old saying!

What do you do when you finish a day at a destination? I usually finish the day’s schedule by eating snacks with local beer.

Along with the spread of Korean Wave, the consumption of Korean liquor by foreigners is steadily increasing. In particular, Korean liquor with various flavor is very popular among young women and foreigners. Korean Liquor, called ‘Soju’, has been avoided because of its strong taste from high alcohol degrees. However, the liquor company has started to release various kind of fruity Soju recently, foreigners are able to feel free about experiencing Korean liquor.

There are about 10 kinds of fruit Soju currently sold in the Korean market. The most popular series of ‘Good Day’, has been released six flavors- pomegranate, citron, blueberry, pineapple, grapefruit and peach. Lotte liquor ‘s ‘Soonhari’ series released the apple this time, followed by citron and peach.

Compared with classic Soju which has 19% alcohol degree, Fruity Soju has an alcohol degree not higher than 15.

However, it doesn’t mean that it’s ok to be overdrank! Excessive drinking can ruin your journey.

If it’s your first time drinking Soju, I’ll give you some tips on how to enjoy Soju moderately.

  • Eat with the snacks, to protect your stomach.
  • Try to do not change type of arcohol, for example, Soju to beer. It may cause horrible hangover.
  • You don’t have to drink it all at once. It makes you blackout more quickly.

These are just additional information, not an essential point. There are so many foreigners who drink Soju more than Korean people. I am telling you as a person who had suffered with a hangover.
