Thailand's Health Ministry has found a way to Cure Novel coronavirus

The South China Morning Post in Hong Kong reported on 3 February that Thailand’s Health Ministry has found a way to treat new cases of coronavirus infections.

The Health Ministry said the 71-year-old Chinese woman, a confirmed Novel coronavirus, improved dramatically after taking drugs that mixed anti-viral drugs and HIV treatments used for the flu.

The woman tested negative 48 hours after she was injected with the antiviral compound, Dr. Criensack Atiphorwanich, a medical officer, told a news conference.

“The positive test for the novel coronavirus turned into a negative reaction in 48 hours,” Dr. Criensack said. “The patient, who was in critical condition, woke up 12 hours later.

He said doctors combined the antiviral drugs Ocel-Tamibir with the AIDS drugs Lopinavir and Ritonavir.

An example of what the Korean medical team already used in SARS was done in Thailand after seeing the report. In the case of SARS, four confirmed cases were found in South Korea, and none died. Accordingly, the WHO has designated it as a good example of quarantine.

Thailand has so far had 19 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. In foreign countries except China, the number is the second largest after Japan, where 20 cases have been reported.

So far, eight patients have recovered and returned home in Thailand, while 11 remain in the hospital for treatment, according to the SCMP.
