The group BTS has continued to make record-breaking moves on other charts, following the simultaneous top and second wins on the U.S. Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard, a U.S. music media outlet, on the 13th (Oct. 17), the remix version of Jason Derulo’s “Savage Love” topped the list of “Hot 100” and has been at the top of the chart for seven weeks since it was released in September, respectively. This created the second ‘Hot 100’ No. 1 song, while at the same time writing a milestone in putting the two songs in first and second place, side by side.
Dynamite remained at the top of other charts. In addition to topping the “Digital Song Sales” chart for seven consecutive weeks, it ranked first in “Mexico Airplay,” 14th in “Canadian Hot 100,” 14th in “Pop Song,” 11th in “Mexico Ingles Airplay,” 21st in “Streaming Song,” 21st in “Adult Pop Song,” 21st in “Adult Contemporary” and 24th in “On Demand Streaming Song.” BTS broke its own record by ranking 26th on the “Radio Song” chart.
BTS is also continuing its fierce momentum in the “Billboard Global” chart, which ranks streaming and sales in more than 200 countries and regions around the world. On the Billboard Global 200 chart, it ranked first and third with “Savage Love(Laxed – Siren Beat)” and “Dynamite,” respectively, while on the “Billboard Global” chart, it ranked second with “Dynamite” and third with “Savage Love(Laxed – Siren Beat).”
Even considering the new chart, BTS also earned a valuable title as the first artist to top two or more songs on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
BTS’s previous albums also remained solid on the main album chart, “Billboard 200.” “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7”, which was released in February, ranked 78th, and “LOVE YOURSELF 結 “Answer” released in August 2018, ranked 150th.
Foreign media also paid attention to the fact that BTS continues its relentless run on the Billboard chart.
The U.S. Forbes shed light on the Billboard Hot 100’s first and second place titles on the 13th (local time), saying, “BTS used to benefit from Western pop stars featuring on their songs. Now, the tables have turned, and a seven-piece Korean boy band is a kingmaker on the Hot 100.”
“If anyone is still questioning the commercial capabilities of BTS, even though ‘Dynamite’ has held its (hot 100) top 2 positions for seven consecutive weeks, then the ‘Savage Love’ should completely erase those doubts. “The fact that ‘Savage Love’ BTS sang in native Korean is much more meaningful than the first ‘Dynamite’ in English,” he stressed.
Forbes also praised the powerful fandom that has been revealed since the release of the remix version of “Savage Love,” saying, “I can say that BTS has the ‘Hand of Midas’ to make pop hits.”
Based on Social media around the world, BTS has set an unprecedented record of 170 consecutive weeks and 200th place in the Social 50 chart, which can check the artist’s popularity scale.
