SSAK3, a project group from MBC’s variety show “Hangout with Yoo,” has topped music charts with the cover song “In Summer.”
The one-off K-pop group has joined the show’s host and comedian Yoo Jae-suk and singers Rain, Lee Hyo-ri to bring back the 90s vibe on the music scene.
For its first project, the group released a cover song of K-pop duo Deux’s 1994 summer-themed song on Saturday.
The song topped the music charts on several streaming sites, including Genie and Bugs, as of Sunday afternoon.
It was remixed by singer-songwriter Park Moon-chi, who is known for producing retro-style songs, and features by Hwang Kwang-hee, a former member of K-pop group ZE: A.
The group will make its official debut on July 25 with a new song “Summer Sea Again.”
