Just days after debuting on U.S. television on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and performing at the 2017 American Music Awards, steaming-hot K-pop boy band BTS make their daytime TV debut Monday with a pretaped stint on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The seven-piece boyband – made up of RM, V, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga and Jungkook – prerecorded an interview on Ellen’s show while in the US for the American Music Awards, and the eagerly anticipated episode is set to air today Stateside.
November 27 episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” has recently opened a video of the BTS, they performed their new “MIC Drop” remix for the first time on television!
Ellen DeGeneres introduced their performance by mentioning that millions of people have asked for BTS to be invited as guests on the show. The guys then took to the stage to wow with an amazing performance of their “MIC Drop” remix, which was produced by Steve Aoki.
While BTS has performed their original track “MIC Drop” from their mini album “Love Yourself: Her” on Korean television before, this was the first time a performance of the remix has aired on TV, and the first time ever that a “MIC Drop” performance has been on U.S. television.
The “MIC Drop” remix and its stellar MV were released just last week, and the song rose to the top of the U.S. iTunes Top Songs chart, with BTS becoming the first K-pop group to take No. 1. It also grabbed No. 1 on the Top Songs charts of over 60 countries worldwide and entered Spotify’s Global Top 200 chart.
