MBC Every 1 ‘Welcome, the first time in Korea?’ has become a hot topic with high viewer ratings. This program is a reality tour program where foreign broadcasters who stay in Korea invite their friends from their home countries to travel to Korea for the first time in their life.

It is a popular feature of this program that local Korean can see Korea, which Korean did not know through foreigners’ eyes, So far, friends from six countries have visited Korea. What was the most interesting part of the audience’s choice?

An online survey company PMI surveyed 1984 men and women in their 20s and 50s who were watching ‘Welcome, first time in Korea?’ through the survey platform Tillian. The German episodes accounted for 33.2%, which was the most interesting broadcast episodes. Three friends of German-born broadcaster Daniel Lindemann visited Korea and traveled.

They made a scrupulous plan before traveling to Korea, and they amazed viewers. German friends enjoyed Korea in various places such as Itaewon, DMZ, Seodaemun Prison, Noryangjin Fish Market, Gyeongju. The second place was the “Finland episodes” (21.4%) who traveled in the Jjimjilbang and the baseball field Sokcho. Followed by  ‘Indian episodes’ (18.5%) who experienced Korean camping, Bukchon Hanok Village and Changdeokgung Palace.

The most impressive tour course among the various travel courses that showed the characteristics of 6 countries was ‘DMZ Tour by German friends’ (41.0%). German friends went to the DMZ, toured the 3rd tunnels, and listened to the stories of separated families from North Korea and South Koreas. The Germans’ DMZ tour, which had experienced the same history of their own, made a deep impression on viewers.

In the second place, the recently broadcast ‘Finnish Convenience Jjimjilbang’ (16.4%) was selected. The third place is ‘food tour for foreigners by Indian friends’ (16.3%). They tasted tteokbokki, bulgogi, chicken, and experienced Korean food and culture.
